Actor. He was best known to television viewers for his roles as Bill Hooten on the ABC sitcom "Guestward, Ho!" from 1960 to 1961 and as Jim Nash on the NBC sitcom "Please Don't Eat the Daisies" from 1965 to 1967. He trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and later performed on the theatrical stage in numerous productions. In 1954, he made his acting debut on the television series "The Inner Flame." Besides "Guestward, Ho!" and "Please Don't Eat the Daisies," he went on to appear in such series as: "Gunsmoke," "The Andy Griffith Show," "Bright Promise," "The Name of the Game," "Marcus Welby, M.D.," "The Streets of San Francisco" and "Days of Our Lives." In 1957, he made his film debut in "Blonde in Bondage." His later film credits would include: "The Hook" (1963), "Youngblood Hawke" (1964), "Mr. Sycamore" (1975) and "Christmas Mountain" (1981). He also wrote such films as "Savannah Smiles" (1982) and "A Walk in the Clouds" (1995). He is the father of actress Penelope Ann Miller.
