A full back, signed from Ilkeston United in March 1913. His career was interrupted by WW1 but he remained at Stamford Bridge for seven years, mostly playing in the Combination side but proving a reliable deputy for either Walter Betteridge or Jack Harrow when the occasion arose.
He later played for Gillingham.
