Athlete. He competed in two summer Olympic games. His first came in the 1972 games in Munich Germany in the men's K-1 1000 metres kayaking event in which he won the bronze medal. The second Olympics he competed in was in 1976 in Montreal Canada, also in the men's K-1 1000 metres kayaking event. This time he managed to win the silver medal. In the 1971, 1973, 1974 and 1975 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships he managed to win gold medals. He was elected was elected Hungarian Sportsman of the year in 1973.
