Died at his home on Buffalo Street on Sunday afternoon, May 22nd. He was born in Warsaw on August 18, 1867, the son of John W. and Anna Crawford Montgomery and had always lived here. For 42 years he was associated with the Montgomery Shoe Store, part of time in partnership with his father who started the store 77 years ago, later as sole proprietor, and for several years past in partnership with his son, Lawrence Montgomery. With his genial manner and courteous ways he made many friends. Member of Presbyterian church. In September 1893 he married Miss Anna L. Smith who survives him together with 2 children, Miss Lois Montgomery and Mr. R. Laurence Montgomery; one grandson, Robert Montgomery; 3 brothers, Edward, Frank and Charles Montgomery all of Warsaw. Rev. Geo. D. Miller officiating. The stores closed during the hour of the service. Buried in Warsaw cemetery.
