Michelle Ludwig of Story, Wyo., was an exchange student in Murcia, Spain, on local scholarship through the Experiment in International Living.

She was to be a senior at Sheridan High School this fall, and was active in student affairs, serving on the student senate, student council and as junior class secretary. She was elected to be senior class secretary this fall and had attended American Legion Girl's State, where she was elected supreme court justice prior to leaving for Spain in June.

She was president of Sheridan County Junior Leaders Club, secretary/treasurer of Episcopal Youth Churchmen, member of Sheridan High School Cross Country Track Team for three years, member of 4H in Story for eight years, and a member of Fellowship of Christian
Athletes, Spanish Club and the Episcopal Church.

Michelle, 17, died Tuesday of injuries received in an automobile accident in Spain.

She was born Nov. 30, 1967, in Laramie, a daughter of Scott and Janet Ludwig. She attended elementary schools in Laramie and Story, Central Junior High School and Sheridan High School.

Survivors include her parents, of Story; two brothers, Rusty and Ryan, both of the family home; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Newton of Sheridan, Ila Ludwig of Laramie, and Geven and Dick Ludwig of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Sheridan. Burial will be at a later date in Sheridan. Champion Funeral Home is in charge.
