Born June 9, 1938 in New Orleans, LA to the late Willie and Ruth Johnson.
Lydia J. Porter was a graduate of Charity School of Nursing, Bishop State College and Southern University of New Orleans.
She was a retired Registered Nurse and worked at many hospitals in the city.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Porter, Sr. of New Orleans, LA.
She is survived by her 4 children: John C. Porter, Jr., Sheryl A. Hunt of Shoreline, WA, Lynette E. Hicks and Patrick A. Porter of Pt. Orchard, WA, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, cousins and many great friends.
Special thanks to St. Margaret Nursing Home and the staff of Ochsner Hospital (Main Campus) for taking care of our mother during her illness.
