MANSON – Fred Milburn, 75, Manson, a prominent North Central Washington businessman and orchardist, died Sunday.
He was born Jan. 1, 1905, at Mystic, Iowa, and graduated from high school there. In 1924 he moved to Wenatchee and married Eunice P Thomas on July 6, 1926 at Olympia.
Following their marriage they made their home in Seattle for two years, where he was employed with Northern Life and Manufacturing Co.
During that time he was also active in the Western Pine Association. He operated orchards in the Manson area and served as director with Lake Chelan Fruit Growers.
Mr. Milburn was co-owner of the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Wenatchee from 1959 until 1979.
Mrs. Milburn preceded him in death in May 1976.
He was a member of Chelan Valley Lodge No. 118, F&AM, the Scottish Rite Mason, the El Katif Shrine, the Wenatchee Elks Club, the Chelan Eagles, Wenatchee Golf and Country Club, Chelan Golf Club, Washington State Seniors Golf Association, the Calgary Petroleum Club and the Pacific Indians Trap Shooting Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Hughes, Manson; two sons, Donald, Manson and David, Bellevue; his mother Nellie Milburn, Des Moines, Iowa; three sisters, Mamie Abbott, Esther Hamlon and Marie Kauzlaritch, all of Des Moines, Iowa; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Precht Rose Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
