Karl A. Metz, 71, a long-time resident of Chelan, died in the hospital here Saturday after a long illness.
He was born in Wisconsin Dec. 26, 1897, and later moved to Spokane.
In 1927 he came to this area, first working at Twenty-five Mile Creek.
Through the years, before retiring in 1968, he worked in orchards and in the carpentry trade.
