Charles Thomas Snow

Charles Thomas Snow was a service casualty of WW1

Charles was born in Stepney, the son of Joseph, a gas stoker from Hammersmith and Rebecca Amelia Snow (nee Hall) from Brill in Buckinghamshire and his baptism was held at St.Paul's Church in Bow on the 22nd February 1899. Charles was a brother to William James, Beatrice Sarah and Amelia Snow.

In WW1 Charles enlisted in London and served as L/Cpl 23738 Grenadier Guards 5th (Reserve)Bn. and it would appear that he did not serve outside of the United Kingdom as the Reserve Bn. would suggest. He passed away at the Queen Alexandra's Hospital in Millbank London which was originally built as the Guards hospital to serve the Grenadier Guards regiment but such was the need for hospital beds, it was opened out to allow all those who had served the military in any capacity.

He was laid to rest at the CITY OF LONDON CEMETERY and shares a burial plot with his brother William James Snow

At the time of his passing Charles was just 18 years of age.
