Christy Anne Horn, 68, Lincoln, passed away February 7, 2018. Born January 24, 1950 in Lincoln to Delbert & Dorothy (Blood) Johnson. Christy was a longtime and valued member of the UNL Business and Finance team, having served for more than 30 years at the University and in Central Administration since 1999. Most recently she was the ADA/504 compliance officer, affirmative action/equal employment opportunity officer and ombud. Christy devoted her career to creating programs that helped others reach their full potential.

As a graduate student, she wrote a grant to the U.S. Department of Education establishing the UNL Services for Students with Disabilities Office. She received the UNL Chancellor's Commission on the Status of Women Award for establishing lactation rooms on campus and founded the UNL Accommodation Resource Center in 1995 which was the first of its kind in the country. Christy also was active in teaching, research and mentoring of graduate students and has been nationally recognized for her work in supporting students with disabilities. The University is a much better place because of her work and her leadership.

Family members include her loving husband of 46 years, Craig; children, Erik (Dana Herskovic) Horn and Megan (Robert II) Watson; grandchildren, Quinn Horn and Evan Watson; siblings, Steven (Deb) Johnson, Barbara (Paul) Welke, Dan Johnson; aunt, Hazel Sutherland; many other friends and loved ones. Preceded in death by parents and son, Adam.

Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday (2/10) Southern Heights Presbyterian Church, 5750 S. 40th St., Lincoln. Memorials contributions can be directed to the University of Nebraska Foundation in memory of Christy A. Horn. No visitation, cremation. Condolences online at Roperandsons.com.
