Betty Lou Smith was born March 10, 1938 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to P.A. and Goldie (Bulla) Barton. She passed away September 7, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years 5 months and 27 days. She grew up in the Sulphur area and attended school . She met Royce Smith and they were married October 29, 1954 in Sulphur. They moved to Stratford, where she finished her education and graduated from Stratford High. They made their home on a farm north of Stratford and ran Smith Brothers Farms.
She worked as the Stratford school secretary for many years and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She will be missed by all those that loved her and our little community.
Preceded by; her parents, P.A. & Goldie Barton, husband Royce Smith, 2 brothers Kent and J.R. Barton, sister; Pricilla Monjay, granddaughter; Cassie Wood, and granddaughter in law Tricia Wood.
Services in the Free Will Baptist Church Stratford, Oklahoma. Burial will be in McGee cemetery Stratford.
