A lovely, generous, and beautiful person left this earth a better place for an even better one. Evelyn Katherine Black (nee Zinta), 92, of South Elgin, formerly of Rockford but born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away on May 6, 2017. She was fondly known as Ev, Evie, Evelyn, Mom, Mother, Mameo, Grams, Gram, Grameo and New Grandma. She was born Sept. 3, 1924. She is survived by her children, Lawrence (Connie Koeller), Michael (Kerri), Donald (Tina), Mary (Kent) Flodin, Carol (Jerry Barry) and Barbra (Joseph) Conner. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Anne (Clay) Kennedy, Evan (Max) Brown, Skylar, Steven (Dayna), Amy (Martin) Nevares, Jeffrey (Kati) Flodin, Kersten (Paul) Hoerner and Katie Burt. She is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Wolfgang and Wilhelmina Kennedy, Norah and Niles Black, Isaiah and Elijah Nevares, Keegan Hoerner and Jeanie Flodin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Katherine (Szmania) Zinta and siblings Walter Zinta, Agnes Martin, Mary Witzel, Florence (Barbara) Beu and George Zinta. The private burial will be held on Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 7301 West Nash St., Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
