Born in Chestertown, N.Y., March 18, 1898, he attended Culver Military Academy in Indiana, the Lawrenceville Prep, and Peddie Institute in New Jersey.
A combat veteran in World War I he served in the Marine offensive, at St. Michiel and in the Meuse Argonne. He received a field commission as second lieutenant. Following the war he re-enlisted in Tientsin, china, from 1924 until 1927.
He came to Wenatchee from China and married Florence Farmwald in 1927. He resided in Wenatchee and in Seattle before settling in Chelan. His wife preceded him in death in May 1961.
On Sept. 12, 1961 he married Elizabeth Billington.
Mr. Mack was a member of American Legion Post 10, Wenatchee; Wenatchee Aerie 204, Fraternal Order of Eagles; and the Twenty-Five Mile Creek Grange 1096.
Surviving are: his widow; one son, William G. Billington, at home; two daughters, Seaman Sarah J. Billington, WAVE, Arlington, VA., and Mrs. Dale Henderson, Chelan; a brother, Clarence Mack, Erie, Pa., and a sister, Mrs. Louise Lavine, New York City.
Funeral services were held Saturday 11 am, from the Colonial Chapel of Jones and Jones Funeral Home with Wenatchee Aerie 204, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Fred E. Wagner officiating. Cremation followed with Jones and Jones in charge of arrangements.
