Victor David Hall

22 Jun 1938 ~ September 6, 2022

Victor David Hall, 84 of Tazewell, Virginia, left his earthly home in exchange for his heavenly mansion Tuesday, September 6, 2022. He was surrounded by his family as he received his glorious reward of eternity. Just as his name declares, he was a victor in every aspect of life and now rejoices in ultimate victory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Luther Hall and Bertha Taylor Hall, brother, W.L. "June" Hall, Jr., sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Spence and Ida Mae Howery, and special nephews, Dennis Hall and Steven Spence.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Biddie "Shortie" Hall. Their love story will never be finished; it has simply merged with timelessness and will forever be a testimony of the goodness of God. His love for Shortie was evident in every action he did, every word he spoke.

He is also survived by his precious daughter, Vicki Hall Bailey, and husband Jeffery Bailey of Tazewell, VA. Vicki was "Daddy's girl" through and through. Their bond was as strong as the roots of a tree, spreading out and holding tight through all of life's endeavors. He was so proud of Vicki and Jeff in all of their accomplishments, but more than anything that they love and serve the Lord. He never referred to Jeff as his son-in-law, because Jeff became the son he never had.

Vic is also survived by granddaughter Heather Bailey Barrett, husband Stephen Barrett, great-grandson Stephen Barrett, Jr., and great-granddaughter Kathryn "Cupcake" Barrett of Tazewell, VA. Heather was her papa's pride and joy, and she was a blessing to him in his retirement years. Heather, her precious husband and their children always brought a smile to his face. Vic loved his family with a fiery fervor that is unmatched by any earthly force and spent every second he could with them. Their days together were filled with laughter, wisdom, and joy unspeakable.

Vic is also survived by sister, Beulah Taylor, of Tazewell VA. Known as "baby brother," Vic always loved time with his sister and they would usually tell stories of childhood, reveling in the memories of this beautiful life.

He is also survived by special sister-in-laws, Lettie Hall, Carole Powell, and Christine Kinser, and special brother-in-law, Tommy Kinser.

Vic is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all who held a special place in his life and heart.

Vic faithfully served his church, Bundy's Chapel, as an adult Sunday School teacher, deacon and trustee as long as his health permitted. When he was no longer able to be there in person, he supported his church with his tithes and prayers. Vic also carried his ministry along with his profession. During his fifty plus years of service working with Peery & St.Clair he touched many families which was much like his church work.

Vic was a proud Army veteran. He served his country just as he served his family and friends, with all of his heart.

While passing is a sad occasion, Vic would not want us to mourn his loss. For our loss, is heaven's gain. He lived this life completely rooted in faith and has reached the finish line of his earthly time. While our hearts ache with the longing of his presence for just one more story, one more nugget of wisdom, or one more conversation, he is exactly where he spent his entire life preparing to be and he would want us all to rejoice in that. He spoke often that worldly riches could never come close to touching his heavenly treasures and the treasure of his family's closeness. He was a man of absolute genuine goodness, admirable in all of his ways. He touched the lives of so many and leaves us all with countless fond memories together. His heart of gold always lent a helping hand to anyone in need. He never met a stranger and would ask anyone he met who their family was and where they lived. He genuinely loved to get to know everyone who crossed his path.

To know him was truly to love him. There are few people who could ever exert the amount of kindness and humility that radiated from Vic's life. When looking for an example of a Godly man, you would never look any further than this sweet man. His essence was the essence of God. His light was a beacon and many eternal mansions will be filled because of Vic's earthly service.

There are no earthly words to ever be enough to accurately describe the goodness of this man. To sum up his life in just a few words seems like such a disservice to the incredible man he was. But the beautiful truth is his life wrote his own story and many of us have read it, page after page. We've underlined the special parts, unique to our own experiences with him. Now that his story on earth is over, may we cling to the story of his life, never forgetting the truths so clearly displayed.

The testimony of his life paints the most incredible picture of love, such beauty our eyes can scarcely take in. If there was ever an honorable man, it was Victor David Hall. Let us rejoice, knowing that he has completed every task on this earth and is now in the presence of God Almighty. Well done, good and faithful servant.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM with the Reverend David Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, VA where military rites will be conducted by members of Barns Beavers VFW Post 7136 of Tazewell, VA and the Virginia National Guard Honor Team of Gate City, VA.
