Ellen "Ellie" Armstrong, 79, passed away on August 9, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She was born on January 27, 1943 in Schenectady, N.Y. to the late Armand and Mary Dougherty Billings and received her education at Mohonasen High School in Schenectady.
On August 7, 1963 she was united in marriage with Gerald "Red" Armstrong in Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica, a loving union of over 50 years until his passing on June 17, 2014.
Prior to her retirement, Ellie drove school bus for many years for the Chadwicks and Sauquoit school systems.
Ellie enjoyed camping and getting together once a month for many years with her card club. Most of all she loved spending time with her great-grandson, Christopher Lamie, who she affectionately referred to as "My Boy". Besides Christopher she is survived by her daughter and son in law; Karen and Dennis Dulan of Westmoreland, her two granddaughters; Heather and Heath Williams of Westmoreland and Brittney Armstrong of Troy, her great-grandchildren; Riley Mae Williams and Dylan Williams and her sister; Madelyn Gibson of Danville, PA.
She was predeceased by her son Daryl in 2009.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
