Thomas Glen "Tommy" Hartman, 81, passed away September 7, 2022 with family by his side at his home in Sanger, TX. Tommy was born to P.F. "Pug" and Hazel Juanita (Brown) Hartman at the family home in Jimtown, OK on May 18, 1941. Tommy graduated from Leon High School in 1959 and married his true love of 61 years, Carolyn Janett Powell on August 18, 1961 in Jimtown. Together they raised three children, twin sons, Michael Scott and Steven, and daughter Susan on the family's farm. He loved his life as a farmer and spent countless hours raising peanuts, cattle, various other crops, and sold award winning show pigs.

Tommy was a respected and loved member of the Leon community who supported his neighbors and the local 4-H and FFA Chapters in many ways. He was known for his hard work and willingness to help his neighbors. He was a lifelong friend to many, enjoyed pranking and laughing with friends and family, and loved the life on the farm. Tommy enjoyed watching old westerns, talking on the phone with old friends and catching up on what was happening back home, rocking on the back porch, sitting at the table reminiscing with visitors while enjoying a cup of coffee, and taking family out for supper for some good fried shrimp.

He was a board member of the Federal Land Bank and Oklahoma Peanut Growers Association, honorary member of the Turner 4-H and FFA, and a member and supporter of the Love County Livestock Show for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tommy is survived by his wife Carolyn of the home; sons, Michael Scott Hartman and wife Tammy of Fort Worth, TX, and Steven Hartman and wife Cindy of Sanger, TX; daughter, Susan Stokes and husband Brian of Collinsville, TX; brothers, P.A. Hartman and Grady Hartman; sister, Martha Shaw; sisters-in-law, Bobbie Davenport and Margaret Powell; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Tommy was Papa to Macy Hartman and fiancé Zachary Davis and Shali Hartman all of Fort Worth, McKaylyn Satterfield and husband Jason, Hailey Moore and husband Jacob, and Morgan Hartman all of Sanger, Thomas Luke and Madeline Jade Stokes of Collinsville, TX, and was anticipating his first great-grandchild in March.

Tommy was proud of his family and loved each of them will all his heart.

Pallbearers will be sons Michael Scott and Steve Hartman, son-in-law Brian Stokes, grandson Thomas Luke Stokes, and grandsons-in-law Jason Satterfield and Jacob Moore. Honorary bearers are Joel Hicks, Curtis Nipp, Mike Steele, Joe Robnett, Charles McKay, Bill McGill, Roger Rhoades, and Brian Sanders.
