James Stephenson (Jim) Bane, Jr., died after a lengthy illness in Fort Myers, Florida, on February 22, 2019. He was 91. He leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly 67 years, Pearl Littleton Bane, and two children, Jim (wife Chris) Bane of North Fort Myers, Florida, and Melissa Bane (husband Jerry) Sevier of Versailles, Kentucky. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Jennifer (husband George) Riebel of Georgetown, Kentucky; Heather (husband Clyde) Sevier of Winter Garden, Florida; Steve Bane of San Antonio, Texas; and Andrew Bane of Buford, Georgia. The five great grandchildren are Joel, Camille, Wynston, and Corinne Riebel of Louisville and Georgetown, Kentucky, and Bella Fabretti of Winter Garden, Florida. He is also survived by a sister, Martha Clendenen, of Glade Spring, Virginia, and was predeceased by his sister Ann Catherine Gillespie of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Born and raised in Bristol, Tennessee, James served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He spent most of his career at Sperry/Univac. He'll be missed by all who knew him, especially his family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to National Cremation & Burial Society.
