One of Gods angels, Kim Anita Burton McFadden, was called home on February 3, 2013. Kim was born on April 3, 1964, in Lansing, Michigan.

Kim graduated from J. W. Sexton High School in 1982. After graduation, she studied at Michigan State University for three years and later married Mr. Lyle McFadden in 1989. In 1991, twin boys were born.

Kim was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She was the founder and owner Ms. Broadway Shoes, one of the first African American shoe stores in Lansing; she also founded the Twin Oaks Senior Bible Study Group with the Pastor of the Shiloah Missionary Baptist Church. For the past three years, Kim was a volunteer for the Michigan National Guard Youth Program.In addition to Ms. Broadway Shoes, Kim has worked for G. C. Services and two family-owned businesses, Guard de Infant and the Classy Image Beauty Salon.

Kim leaves to celebrate her legacy of love, dedication and commitment, her sons; parents Sim and Minnie (Coats) Burton; three sisters; an adopted sister; two brothers.

The family hour is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Friendship Baptist Church, 2912 Pleasant Grove Road, Lansing, MI 48910. Funeral Services will begin immediately following the Family Hour at 12:00 noon, Pastor David Ford officiating.
