Joyce Ann "Mamie" Hubbard, 79, of Loraine, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas.
She was born the sixth of seven children to Jessie Leon and Nina Florene Hubbard on May 3, 1943, in Noble, Louisiana. She married Earnest Bumstead on February 14, 1963 and had five daughters who were her pride and joy.
She spent her life as a servant in God's kingdom in whatever capacity was needed. She also was a caretaker to many in their last days. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and faithful friend. She was a loyal and faithful member of the Apostolics of Loraine Church in Loraine, Texas.
Mamie was full of sass and class. She was loved and cherished by so many and will be greatly missed.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Nina Hubbard; her brothers, Forest Leon Hubbard, William Richard Hubbard and Marvin Ronald Hubbard; a sister, Betty Janiece Dawson; and one great-grandchild, Braxton Wyatt.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Gerldine Wooddell; her brother, Donald Ray Hubbard and sister-in-law, Betty Joyce Hubbard; her children, Lauren (Ernest) Murphy, Kelly (Henry) Mitchell, Tracy (Tom) Mallion, Melanie and (John) Morgan and Heather and (Chase) Martin; her grandchildren, Rachel, Hannah, Mandy, Lindsey, Lauren, Leslie, Lacey, Carson, Sheree, Justin, Jenny, Jessie, Courtney, Nick, Chloe, Maxwell and Alexander; her 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The viewing will be at the Apostolics of Loraine Church, 300 South Lightfoot, Loraine, Texas, on Thursday, September 8th from 6-8 p.m.
The homegoing service will be held at the church on September 9th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brandon Worley officiating. Interment will follow at Loraine Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
