Anna "Jean" McCabe, 91, of Burlington, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at her home.
Born May 19, 1916, in Des Moines County, she was the daughter of Arthur and Elisa Downer Conn. On Sept. 28, 1938, she married Frank R. McCabe in Burlington. He died July 12, 1986.
Mrs. McCabe was a homemaker. She did housekeeping and ironing for other people. She attended Latty and Sperry schools. She was affiliated with Church of Christ. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Wixom of West Burlington, and Karen McCabe and Minnie Shinn, both of Burlington; three stepsons, Bill McCabe and Charles McCabe, both of New London, and Bob McCabe of Florida; five grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Meyer and Maxine Nelson, both of Burlington.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
The graveside funeral for Mrs. McCabe will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Burge Cemetery in New London with Caleb Sampson officiating.
