Bettie L. Howard, 80, of Hazel Park, Michigan passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2016 in the Palliative/Hospice Unit at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak with family by her side.
On May 20, 1936, Bettie was born as the sixth child (of 12) to Walter E. Phillips and Nora Amanda Lee Phillips (Bryant) of Hanceville, Alabama.

Bettie is survived by four children, Richard (Cheryl) Howard, Susan (Steve) Koscielski, Tina (Matt) Kaspari and six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two sisters, Dell Minor of Hanceville, AL and Lou Cindy McInnis of TN and dozens of nephews and nieces.

Bettie was preceded in death by her son Raymond S. Howard, grandson Bill "Billy" M. Richards, and nine siblings.

We would like to thank everyone who truly and respectfully assisted in taking care of our mom. In lieu of flowers, we ask considering making a donation to the Michigan Humane Society.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29th, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 30th, 2016 at 11:00 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block North of 13 Mile Road, West side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial will take place at Christian Memorial Cemetery located at 521 E. Hamlin Rd., Rochester Hills, MI.
