Brenda Kirby Norwood, age 72, of Hayes, died at her home on Monday, June 6, 2022, with her family by her side. Brenda approached life with joy and always with a sense of humor. Together with her late husband of more than 50 years, Brenda and Randy made their home in many places around the country and around the world, always making friends that would last a lifetime. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall Maynard Kirby and Willie Sheppard Kirby, husband Walter "Randy," grandson John Hisey, and brother Stanley Linkous. Brenda is survived by her children, Rusty Norwood (Tina) and Laura Hisey (Hank), granddaughter Lydia Chambers (Jonathan), and sister Jean Hall. The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Memorial service will be private. In memory of Brenda, memorial contributions may be made to Abingdon Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad at P.O. Box 9, Bena, VA 23018.
