Dr. Horace C. Elkins, age 77 of Cowan, died at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester. He was born in Coffee County and was a dentist. He is survived by daughters, Deborah A. Wallington of Lookout Mountain, Georgia and Daphne E. Seaman of Bardstown, Kentucky; sons, Dr. Charles P. Elkins of Marianna, Florida, Doyle Elkins of Cowan, and Dr. Bryan Elkins of Cowan; mother, Honorine Elkins of Manchester; sisters, Jo Ellen Busby of Manchester and Billie Tarter of Birmingham, Alabama; brother, Dr. Bobby Sam Elkins of Brentwood; and 12 grandchildren. Service was Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Lee Medley officiating. Inteerment was in Cowan Montgomery Cemetery in Cowan.
