Don was born on September 22, 1935 in Evanston, IL to Edward C. Sr. and Edna Wagner.
Don was married to Barbara Schmitt on March 2, 1957 at St. Mary's in McHenry, IL. They were married for 65 years. They resided in Spring Grove, IL for 20 years and the last 45 years were in Eagle River, WI.
Donnie operated his business, Wagner Excavating, for 25 years until his retirement. He always thought very highly of the people he came in touch with in his business over the years.
He loved bowling, fishing, going to the casino, and of course the lottery ticket rip-offs.
Donnie and Barbara wanted to thank all of the people that came up to visit. Especially his brother, sisters-in-law, brother in law, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Donnie was preceded in death by his son: Robert Wagner and his parents: Edward C. Sr. and Edna Wagner.
He is survived by his wife: Barbara Wagner of Eagle River, WI; children: Jon (Korin Janik)Wagner of Eagle River, WI, and James (Shannon Kurtz) Wagner of Cary, NC; grandchildren: Jon (Cassandra) Wagner of Alaska, Mark Wagner of St. Germain, Melissa (Nathan) Gebhard of St. Germain, WI, and Austin Wagner of Madison, WI; and great grandchildren: Ellie and Zeke.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday August 19, 2022 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
