Alec was a gifted athlete who developed a love of baseball while living in Baltimore when his team made it to the NABF World Classic Baseball Tournament. In the hotly contested Uncles vs. Cousins Fitzgerald basketball games, ages ranging 7 to 75, Alec's style could best be described as "kamikaze." A surprising move and usually a winning shot unique to Alec's approach to life.
He then developed a passion for surfing that carried him from the east coast shores of Wrightsville Beach to Assateague, and eventually to the Oregon coast where he has been living for the past several years, surfing every cove that had a good break. He loved the Redwood forests, hiking, camping, and a love for the great outdoors. He loved the Chetco and the Winchuck Rivers especially. He was fortunate to have opportunities to follow the surf swells in Central America and Hawaii a few times also.
He had a natural culinary gift and we enjoyed many of his intuitive creations. He and his partner at the time, Lia, opened a restaurant together in Brookings, Oregon. He spent his time with close friends including Lia, her son Nolan and her daughter Naya.
