James Edward Austin, Jr. was born on December 12, 1947 in El Dorado, Kansas; the son of James and Betty Lou (Bailey) Austin. Jim was a graduate of Rosalia High School and faithfully served his country in the United States Navy for four years. He was united in marriage to Linda Korinek on April 30, 2016 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in El Dorado. Jim was known for his huge giving heart and contagious smile. You could often times find him eating breakfast at True Lies Bar and Grill with his friends. His greatest joy in life was his family, which includes; his wife, Linda Austin; children, Vanessa, Carmodee, Cam, JayDee, Jeff and Vickie; stepchildren, Dalton, Dameon, Shannon and Brandon; many grandchildren; great grandson, Richard Lee Manion "Bubby"; siblings, Diana, Darcy, Donna, Debbie, Jerry and Johnny; and many extended family and friends. Jim passed away on September 2, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents. Friends may gather at Carlson Colonial Chapel on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 9-10AM; celebration of Jim's life will follow at 10AM. Memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church or to Linda Austin to begin a trust fund for Bubby, Jim's great grandson.
