Alexander Chester Sumner (1881-1961), 85, died at his home in Palatka Wednesday. He had lived here three months after coming from Starke.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Victoria; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Weldon, Starke, Mrs. W. R. Gibson, Oceanway, and Mrs. Doris Phillips, Palatka; four sons, A. A., Jacksonville, Aron, Starke, W. P., Palatka, and C. C., Tampa; 57 grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Olustee Baptist Church, between Lake Butler and Lake City, with Rev. T. C. Williams officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Arvin A. Sumner, Jr., David, Edward, Earl and Wayne Sumner and Hilton Waldron. Honorary pallbearers, Tom Tatum, Cecil Douglas, Jim McDaniels, Walter Martin, T. L. Casey and Dewey Dennett.
