Son of Edwin Allen Miller, Jr. and Lucille Blair Miller. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1965 as a radio/radar operator on the USS Tattnall. Honorably discharged in Jacksonville, FL, he earned a BA. in Education in 1972, and a M.Ed in Education in 1990. He taught in Albany, GA before moving to Milledgeville. He taught 5th grade at both Northside Elementary School and then at Creekside Elementary. He was selected as a Creekside Super Teacher in 2003. He was a member of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World, the Kiwanis (secretary in 1994-1995); Boy Scouts of America (Leader of Troop 316 in 1991-1992); Boys and Girls Club, Twin Bridges Square Dance Club, and in 1987, joined the Concord Methodist Church (choir member, adult Sunday School class teacher.) He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Marsha L Miller. Surviving are his wife of 22 years, J Freeda Brachen Miller; son, Alexander H Miller; and a granddaughter.
