Born 2 Stow Place, Paisley, son of James (a tailor) and Joan Don Adam, resident of Churchill House, Paisley.

Educated at Stevenson Street School and a member of St James United Free Church.

Was well known with Paisley Amateur Swimming Club.

Widow, Helen Andrew Hunter Adam (daughter of Mr and Mrs Clark Hunter) and 3 children, resident of Paisley.

Went to Canada about 1912 afterwards settled in Sydney, Australia and enlisted when war broke out.

Buried 4th Battalion Parade Ground Cemetery, Turkey (including Gallipoli).
