Evelyn Edna Jones, 89, a resident of Wenatchee, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2004 at Cashmere Convalescent Center. She was born Evelyn Edna Wright on December 12, 1914 to John T. and Edna O. Wright in Elmore City, Oklahoma.
She married Carl "Slick" Jones on March 14, 1936 in Pernell, Oklahoma. They moved to Manson in 1946 where they raised seven children. In her earlier years, she worked for Lake Chelan Growers. She then worked in Seattle for fifteen years before moving back to Wenatchee where she retired.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Carl & (Kitty) Jones of East Wenatchee; (Bill) & Darlene Palmer of Cashmere; Kenneth "Kotn" & (Charlotte) Jones of Lynnwood; Joe & (Vivian) Jones of Everett; (Ernie) & Lawana Senseney of Wenatchee; Clifford & (Judy) Jones of East Wenatchee; Dan Jones of Everett; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, one brother, Vernon Wright of Chelan; two sisters, Winnie Batch of Chelan; Wanda Gallager of Manson; & one niece.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, one brother & one sister.
A memorial service will be held at Telford's Chapel of the Valley on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Hussong officiating. Interment will follow at Fraternal Cemetery in Chelan.
Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
