Victor Leon Owen, 64, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday.

He was born Jan. 23, 1942, at Glendale, a son of the late Victor Otto Owen and Mary Will Smith Owen.

He was reared and educated at Glendale and was a graduate of Glendale High School.

A resident of Pine Bluff for many years, he retired from Gaylord Paper Mill after 35 years as a lab technician.

He was past president of United Paper Workers, Inc., and was a past president and member of the Acorn Creek Hunting Club.

He was a member of Olive Street Missionary Baptist Church and attended the Golden Rule men's Sunday School class.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Branch Hicks and two sisters, Pebble Watts and Hellon Ballew.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Branch Owen, whom he married April 27, 1986 at Sheridan; a son, Tony Branch of Pine Bluff; two daughters, Kava Lynn Owen of White Hall and Tera Farnam of Delaware, Ark.; seven sisters, Carrie Mae McClinton of Winthrop, Eula Faye Hestand of Paragould, Virginia Gillespie of Star City, Maxine Woolley of Rison, Martha Mayfield, Evelyn Johnson and Joyce McFalls, all of Pine Bluff; two brothers, James Owen of Mountain Home and Herbert Owen of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
