Mamie Aslee Bell Childress, 94, of Princeton, TX passed away August 27, 2022. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.

Mamie was born to the late Chester and Georgie Bell on April 21, 1928, in Dialville, TX. Mamie graduated from Dialville High School, Class of 1946. She was married to Fred Aubrey Childress on November 23, 1946. Mamie is survived by her two daughters, Freida Ann Leach of Princeton, Tx and Judy Gail Snell of Creede, Colorado. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. Mamie was predeceased by her loving husband, Fred Aubrey Childress in 1993, her son, Ray Aubrey Childress in 2017, her oldest daughter Mary Evelyn Block in 2019, and one grandson, Fred Aubrey Childress Jr., in 1974.

Mamie had a 28 year long career working at TI, working her way from the line to an Electrical Technician. After retirement, she went to work for the Garland Independent School District, retiring after 10 years form GISD.

Mamie loved being a mom, a grandmother, and a great-great-grandmother. She had a giving spirit and a loving heart. She was always willing to help in any way she could. She was a talented seamstress. She made beautiful dresses, curtains, and was always altering something for someone.

Services for Mamie will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Williams Memorial Chapel in Garland, Texas. The family will receive visitors an hour prior at the same location. Graveside services will follow at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Tx.
