Brunswick – Debbie Forrister, 66 of Brunswick, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at GraceMore Nursing and Rehab in Brunswick following an extended illness. She was born in Folkston, Ga to the late Ervin Crews and Thelma Kizzie Thrift Crews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lavon Crews; two sisters Elaine Crews and Dianne Griffin; two nieces, Shelia Miller and Tina Myers. She attended Ivory Palace Church in Nahunta. She loved to crochet, listen to gospel music, watch old movies, and liked to sing in church.
Survivors include her husband Richard Forrister; one sister, Robin Batten husband David of Hickox; seven nieces, Rhonda Harris husband Don, Brenda Matteliano husband Mark, Stacy West husband Brett, Dawn Rebollo fiancé Candi, Sheryl Lemuz husband Matias all of Winokur, Becky O'Berry husband Chris of Millwood, and Nicole Popwell husband Travis of Waynesville; five nephews, Marty Crews wife Betsy of Folkston, Wallace Crews wife Wendi of Winokur, Terry Griffin wife Melissa of Winokur, Randy Batten wife Jennifer of Hickox, and Robbie Batten of St. Marys. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church in Hickox Friday, September 2, 2022, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 11:00am at the church officiated by Rev. Randy Wainright and Rev. Don Harris.
Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Hickox.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Crews, Marty Crews, Terry Griffin, Randy Batten, Robbie Batten, and Matias Lemuz.
