Audrey Marie Riley, age 78, longtime resident of Novi passed away on August 19, 2022.
Beloved wife to the late Daril Riley.
Audrey was born September 19, 1943 in Highland Park, Michigan to Edwin and Olga Nordstrom. She grew up in Detroit and graduated from Henry Ford High School. She worked as a secretary for many years. Audrey married Daril on November 25, 1967. They lived in Farmington, then Detroit and eventually moved to Novi in 1978.
Audrey loved all kinds of music. She enjoyed many different genres, but was especially fond of live music. She enjoyed going "downtown" to the jazz festival or being entertained locally at a bar or restaurant with her friends. Audrey absolutely adored listening to Daril sing in the choir at St. John Lutheran Church, and never missed a concert when he sang with the Novi Choralaires. Audrey loved sheepdogs (of which she had many), holidays, family traditions (of which there were many), downtown Northville, any Detroit sports team (good, bad or otherwise) and a good craft beer.
Audrey loved to travel on vacation, whether it was the east coast, west coast, down south, or the upper peninsula. She loved to get away, with family, with friends, or just her and Daril. She looked forward to vacationing "anyplace warm" or tropical during the cold Michigan winters, which brought her to places like Mexico and the Caribbean, places she and Daril visited several times. Audrey cherished her summer vacations when the family would spend a week in Wisconsin with Daril's family, then spend the next week in the "U.P" with her side of the family.
Gravesite service will be Saturday, August 27 at 11 am at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi.
