William "Cecil" Ray, Sr. – an 87 year-old native of Ray City, Georgia and resident of Semmes, Alabama passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

Mr. Ray retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers as a dredge engineer after nearly 50 years of service. He was a member of Allentown Holiness Church. Mr. Ray enjoyed gardening, yard work, fishing, playing his pedal steel guitar, and especially loved riding on his tractor.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Robin Ray, Darlene Hare, and Deborah Williams. Mr. Ray is survived by his wife of 35 years; seven children; brother; 19 grand-children, 41 great-grandchildren; 3 great, great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held from Allentown Holiness Church in Semmes on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery West on Snow Road.
