In 1958, Patrick married Dorothy Meyer- a union that lasted 62 years.
Six months after marriage they moved to Storrs, Connecticut where Patrick studied for a master's degree in E.E. Patrick then moved to Ohio state where he taught at Ohio State University and obtained a PhD in Electrical Engineering.
He took a teaching position at West Virginia University and in the summers worked at Boeing, Seattle. He loved the Pacific Northwest and took a permanent position at Boeing and served on The Clyde Hill Council for 8 years. In 1975 Patrick and Dorothy became American citizens.
Patrick was the father of six children, Frank, Jerome, and Michael Hawkins, Andrea Hermey, Stephanie Gibson, and Marybeth Petersen. Patrick was grandfather- Papa to eleven- Chris, Zoe, Grace, Vivienne, and Andrew Hawkins, Jake Corcoran, Nora and Tess Gibson, Eleanor, Malcolm, and Charlotte Petersen.
Patrick was very much loved and sadly missed.
