Percy Embry White Sr., 66, 201 Graham St., passed from labor to reward Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
His life and legacy will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at First African Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Louis Leigh officiating. He will be laid to rest in Wayne Memorial Park.
He was preceded in the silent chambers of death by his parents Herman H. White and Constance Parsons White, and his son Percy Embry White Jr.
The memories of his well spent life rest with his loving wife, Ophelia Hardy White of the home; two children, Jeffrey White of Raleigh and Pamela White of Chicago; and a sister, Margaret Virginia White of Baltimore, Md.
Mr. White will lie in state for viewing at the church one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be received at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends at the residence where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
