Earl "Screwball" Smith Jr., 81, a resident of Houston, TX and a native of the St. Joseph Community in Franklin, LA, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 9:40 AM at Memorial Hermann Greater Height Hospital in Houston, TX.

Louisiana Service: Earl's mortal remains will be placed in the Franklin City Mausoleum, Tuesday, August 16th, 2022 at 9:00 AM.

Memories of Earl Jr. will forever remain in the heart of his children, Patrick, Earl III, Keith, Rose Mary, Tammy, and Janet Smith all of Houston, TX, Kamilah Rose Smith of Dallas TX, brothers; Rev. Rufus Parker Jr. of Beaumont, TX, Louis (Amelia) Parker of Morgan City LA, Floyd (Brenda) Parker of Franklin, LA, McKinley (Mack) Smith of Los Angeles, CA, sisters; Hattie Lee and Celitha Parker of Franklin, LA, Ruth Landry of Killeen, TX, Doris (Mark) Phillips Sr. of Youngsville, LA, Bernadette (Michael) Lockette of Houston, TX and Carol Young of Las Vegas, NV, an Aunt Laura Madison of Franklin LA, fifty grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Earl Jr. was preceded in death by his parents Earl Smith Sr., Elnora M. and Rufus Parker Sr., three brothers; Lloyd Smith Sr., Timothy Parker Sr., and Claude Parker, a sister Elnora Matthew and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
