Shirley was born August 26, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Clifford and Helen Copp Beck.
She attended schools in Lincoln, Illinois. She had a work career that spanned from optician offices to retiring from the perfume counter at Macy's Department Store in Morrow, Georgia. Her spark and love of life drew people in; she'd start conversations with whomever crossed her path. Shirley enjoyed animals, jigsaw puzzles, travel and casinos.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son, Michael Wayne Harris; step-father, Oscar Blackford; companion, David C. Lamb. Tinsel, Shirley's beloved poodle who gave her years of enjoyment also preceded her in death.
Shirley leaves two daughters; one son-in-law;
three grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; father of her children, James Harris, Jr. of Gravois Mills, Missouri also survives

In honor of Shirley's wishes, she will be cremated and when permissible, a private family service will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery in Lincoln, Illinois
