Anne G. Pins, 58, of 2833 Central Ave., formerly of Karlsruhe, West Germany, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque, after her courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where friends may call after 1 p.m.

She was born on March 2, 1944, in East Germany, daughter of Rudolf and Georgine (Eiser) Bemmann. She was married to James Pins, who passed away in 1987.

Anne grew up in Karlsruhe, West Germany. After coming to Dubuque, she received a double bachelor's degree in psychology and special education from the University of Dubuque. She continued her education at Loras, eventually earning her master's degree in clinical psychology. Anne graduated Summa Cum Laude and had been published in the Who's Who among college students publication.

She thoroughly enjoyed animals, nature, gardening and art in all its forms. Anne was an amazing woman who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are a daughter, Melanie Pins, of Dubuque; a grandson, Addison Aronson, of Dubuque; two brothers, Dietmar and Volkhard Bemmann, of West Germany; her mother-in-law, Helen Pins, of Dubuque; three brothers-in-law, Richard (Judy) Pins, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jack (Paula) Pins, of Key West, Fla., and Chuck (Kathy) Pins, of Milwaukee; a sister-in-law, Susan (Les) Bettcher, of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and her father-in-law, Val Pins.

An Anne G. Pins Memorial Fund has been established.

The family would like to thank Rosemary Bucher, Melissa Banfield, Dr. Kukla and Dr. Payne for all their wonderful care and support.
