Phyllis I. Lirely, 85, of Effingham died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Mrs. Lirely was born April 24, 1922, in Effingham County, the daughter of John and Eulalia (Marlowe) Jamison. She married Robert E. Lirely in 1938 and he preceded her in death Dec. 24, 1989.

She was a homemaker and former employee of Effingham Country Club. Mrs. Lirely was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Effingham and Effingham American Legion Post 120 Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son, John R. (wife, Gina) Lirely of Effingham; brother, William Jamison of South Hill, Wash.; granddaughter, Scarlet K. Lirely of St. Louis; and special friend, Paula Haslett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister
