Communist writer and politician. He was general secretary of the Chilean Communist Party (PCCh) between 1989 and 1994. He lived in exile in the Soviet Union after the coup that overthrew President Salvador Allende. From Radio Moscow carried the show "Listen Chile" to his countrymen. Among his most important books are "Neruda", "Los dos Borges" and "Huidobro, la marcha infinita".
