C.C. Buchanan has a CSA pension app on line in the GA archives virtual vault. He says he enlisted in Savannah, Ga in 1861 with Company B of the Savannah Volunteers,. But he re-enlisted in Company G of the 4th GA CAV in April 1862 in South GA. The day after Lee's surrender, he was given leave to go home to become the Tax receiver of Pierce County, GA and was living in Blackshear, GA at the time. Proof of his death on 31 Dec. 1923 in included in this paperwork. NOTE that the archives has him filed under WARD instead of WARE county
