Charles Milton McDaniel ("Chuck" or "Charlie) transitioned into Heaven on Thursday, August, 18, 2022, at his home with his daughter, her husband and son by his side.
Charles was born on Tuesday, January 19, 1932, in Pioneer, OH to Golda (Loomis) and Raymond McDaniel. He was raised in Montpelier, OH until fifth grade when moving to Sylvania with his family. He attended Hillview and graduated from Burnham, class of 1949.
He proudly served in the US Navy 1952-1954. He was a pipe insulator for Asbestos Workers (Insulators) Local 45 Toledo.
He married his love, Margaret (Peggy) Smith, on April 25, 1953 at Olivet Lutheran Church, Sylvania and together they raised three children, Marla Sue "Susie", Charles Dean "Dean" and Timothy Jay.
He was a man of many talents, especially playing Bluegrass at Conn Weissenberger with his handcrafted violins and guitars.
He was predeceased by his wife, Peggy; son, Dean; parents and siblings, Joann Irving, Kay and Terry. He is survived by his brother, Gary (Sharon) McDaniel; children Susie (Stanley Sr.) Krukowski, Tim (Brenda) McDaniel; daughter-in-law, Carol McDaniel; grandchildren, Stanley Jr., Kimberly (Randy Chapman), Gregory (Brianna) Krukowski, Benjamin, Casey McDaniel, Lauren and Lydia McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Aquilina, Sabineh, Tadzio, Ferrin, Emma, Ethan, Eyan and Jayce; and his very lovely sweetheart Liz Allimon and her family.
The family thanks all of his caregivers, especially his son-in-law, Stanley and Pastors Melissa and Nate.
Friend and family are invited to visit Friday, August 26, 2022 from 3:00pm – 8:00pm at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 W. Sylvania Ave. and Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 10:00am – 11:00am at Olivet Lutheran Church, 5840 Monroe St., Sylvania where a memorial service will begin at 11:00am. Interment will be at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Patrick Catholic School (610 S. Portland St., Bryan, OH 43506) or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Shriner's Hospital for Children.
