Joan Roberts Kowalski, 88, of Tacoma, passed away of natural casues on August 24, 2022

Joan was born on April 10, 1934 in Tacoma to Harold and Dorothy Johnson. She graduated from Stadium High School in 1952. She married Donald R. Roberts on July 9, 1955.

Joan began working as a switchboard operator at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Wa in 1976 and retired from there in 1999.

She touched many lives and was always there for her friends and family when in need of advice or a favor. She was always there at any sporting match her children participated in to cheer them on. She volunteered at Holy Cross Church changing the candles every month.

Joan is survived by her two sons, Daniel and Tony Roberts, both of Tacoma; two grandsons, Nicholas Stebner and Donald Roberts, one great grandson, Brody Roberts and many nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 1965, her son, Mark in 2003, and daughter, Maureen in 2019.

Funeral services will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Tacoma on September 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Fr. Ron Knudson officiating. Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Park in Tacoma.
