HEALDTON -- Services for Russell Howard "Red" McClendon, 87, will be 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with Edgar Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery.
Born Jan. 8, 1914, at Mount Poak, Texas, to William Henry "W.H." and Bessie McClendon, he died Jan. 12, 2001, at his residence. He married Anna Holley May 26, 1946. She preceded him in death May 26, 1967
He moved to Healdton in 1917 and to Garland, Texas, in 1989. He was a 32 degree Mason at Healdton Masonic Blue Lodge 23.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Paul, Mesquite, Texas, and Vicki Webb, Houston; four sons, Dale McClendon, Houston, Woody McClendon, Garland, Texas, Randal McClendon, Garland and Steven McClendon, Norman; two sisters, Willie Atchley, Midland, Texas, and Pearl Dunn, Oklahoma City; one brother, Coy McClendon, Napa, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Jeff McClendon, Jonathan McClendon, Blake McClendon, Terry Haydon, Scott Anderson, K.C. Burger, Mike Schopors and David Webb.
Services are under the direction of Spivey-Reser Funeral Home.
