Born in Chatanooga, TN, Wanda was raised an "army brat", yet considered Peoria, IL her childhood home and she graduated from Plainfield High School. She entered nursing school as a young adult in Aurora, IL at Copley Memorial Hospital where she graduated and became a registered nurse. Wanda also met her husband, Terry Jennings, in Aurora and so became an Air Force wife and worked as a RN while starting her family. In 1987, Wanda made her last major move from Aurora, IL to Peachtree City, GA.
Wanda will be remembered as a second mother to many, always with an open door. She had a great heart for people, serving faithfully in both her Illinois and Georgia church families. Although she enjoyed being alone with a good book, she also loved spending time with friends and family and never knew a stranger.
A memorial service will be held at Evergreen Church in Peachtree City, GA, 400 Windgate Road 30269, at 4:00pm on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Feel free to join in honoring Wanda by wearing a little yellow, her favorite color, on the day of memorial!
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Evergreen Church.
