Mrs. Elizabeth Hancock died at 2:30 p. m. Thursday, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Melissa Thomas near Fostoria, after a three months illness.
She was aged 85 years and her death was the result, of diseases incident to old age.
She was born at Appollo, and had resided there many years, but for the past fifteen years her home had been in this vicinity.
She had long been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and died in that faith. For more than fifty years she had been a widow, two daughters only remaining of her family, Mrs. Melissa Thomas, at whose home she died, and Mrs. Maria McGuire, of Fairmount City, Pa.
Two brothers also survive, James Updegraft, of Jeanette, and Philip, of Freeport, Ill. The funeral services will be held at the house at 2:30 p. m. Sunday.
Interment in Logan Valley cemetery.
