Becky Townsend-Beck, 42, of Arkansas City, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007 at her home after year long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Hawks Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Private interment will be in Geuda Springs Cemetery. There will no visitation. Becky was born February 22, 1965 in Winfield, the daughter of John Edwin Townsend and Joyce Ann Ferguson Berryman. She grew up in Geuda Springs and attended grade school and junior high in Oxford. She graduated from Ark City High School in 1983. Becky was employed by Winfield State Hospital, Binney and Smith as a temp, and KSQ at Strother Field. Surviving to honor her memory is her husband, Eldon W. Austin of the home, sons, Jeffery Wayne Townsend, Alec Colton Townsend, and Camren Dakota Austin, her mother, Joyce Ann Berryman and husband, Erby Austin, and her sister Martha Susan Spaulding and husband, Michael, one niece and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her father and her grandmothers. The family request memorial contributions be made to the Rebecca Beck Memorial Fund in care of Hawks Funeral Home to assist with Becky's Funeral Expenses.
