Marie Martin Smith, 69, passed away unexpectedly due to health complications on April 19, 2022, in Washington, UT. She was born on August 6,1952 in Salt Lake City, UT. She was later adopted by Francis Edgar Martin & Fijke (Faye) Post Martin. She married the love of her life, Kevin B. Smith on January 12, 1973 in the Logan Temple.

Marie was raised with 2 sisters, 2 brothers, and many more foster siblings throughout the years. She grew up in the Ogden, Utah area. She attended Ben Lomond High School and Weber State College. She was a dental assistant for 17 years for several dentists in Northern Utah at the beginning of her working career. After moving to St. George, she worked at Boulevard Home Furnishings in guest services for 20 years. She retired to help care for her youngest son,Trevor, when his health required it.

She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many leadership callings in the church and her favorite was working alongside her husband for 9 years, as ordinance workers in the St. George Temple.

Marie was one of the most selfless people and spent her life serving others. She loved everyone she came in contact with and could talk their ear off. Her dad would say, "you would talk to a doorknob if you could!" If you knew her, you got a hug! Her hugs were priceless!

She loved to travel with her family. Her favorite place to visit was Disneyland. She was an avid reader. She loved puzzles and loved to bake.

She said her greatest joys and accomplishments in life were being sealed in the temple, and having her children and grandchildren. She loved to attend all the concerts, dance recitals, competitions, sporting events, plays, activities, and achievements to support her children and grandchildren in all they did. MARIE LOVED HER FAMILY MORE THAN ANYTHING! And she made sure we all knew it.

Marie is survived by her husband, Kevin Smith; daughter: Karissa (Mike) Corrigeux; sons: Derek (Kelli) Smith, Kade (LaTressa) Smith; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother: Paul (Joanne) Brenkman; sister-in-law: Debbi (Glenn) Kartchner; and brother-in-law: Brian Smith. She is preceded in death by her youngest son Trevor, daughter-in-law Lenae, her parents, 3 siblings, and parents-in-law.

To respect her wishes, we will not have a funeral, but will celebrate her life with a viewing that will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 9:30am-12:00pm at the Church building located at 441 S 2200 E St George, UT 84790. Interment will be a private family service at Tonaquint Cemetery, under the Direction of McMillan Mortuary 435-688-8880.
